Don't Date A Doctor

Don't date a doctor, don't you even think about it twice
Because I know some things about them and they're not so nice
You'd think that they are taught to be caring and very kind
But hey you have no idea what tricks they will have in mind
If he meets you and mentions he thinks you may have the 'flu
He's not being concerned. Oh no! He wants to play doctor with you

If on your first date he suggests you both having wine and a chat
You can guess that he wants you to lay down just like that
If he brings you flowers, a romantic gesture you might well think
So guess where he got them? Uhuh that's right from a patients sink
Likewise those chocolates, a very sweet and tender thought
But you know that those chocs he won't have gone out and bought

Oh! Don't date a doctor, they are as treacherous as they can be
They seem to have absolutely no morals, please will you listen to me
If you date a doctor, he'll do exactly as he's sworn he'll do
Don't imagine for one moment that he will be forever true
It doesn't seem to be in their natures to act with proper respect
And they collect nurses trophies as if they needed a matching set

They seem to go through the nurses like an awful  plague of sorts
They're as bad as sailors are with a girl in their many ports
Why our nurses don't have the sense to follow their simple plot
They all know someone who has been left in a very tricky spot
Even though these girls know exactly just what is in store
When they tumble, it's not just their hearts that are so sore

Now don't date a doctor! This is a gentle word of excellant advice
For dating a doctor you'll end up paying a very expensive price
Datind a doctor it'll certainly lead you into a land of woe
I've seem them next morning giving a nurse the brush off just so
They have no idea of the pain they leave behind them in their wake
So take my advice don't date them, for you and your hearts sake

Only a memory of the same

Ethome, I had to write this one, there's been three nurses in here today telling us about their troubles. Three that's unheard of, and the new docs have only just started. We haven't got one single woman doc here. Well we have but they're consultants and as old as the hills. So I had to write it, I know I'm going to get hell for it, but.....  I'll be good after today I promise. No more poems about my sisters or doctors I promise.

Circe love, I'm sorry, I didn't see you there, and now there's just been another nurse in here. (I wonder if they;ve all been conned by the same one, no doubt we'll know before anyone else does.) They come in here for tea and sympathy, and becuase we have the good poetry, they'd go to the porters but they don't provide tea or anything else. Those OSCAR's are so slack, they tell me they're working, yes of course they are.
Glad you liked it love, I hope it made you smile.

Lots of truth in your writing..Oh yes Marsha I have dated Doctors daughters and Doctors ex's and they indeed have some sad stories to tell of their dear Dr's wandering eyes...but I will not pick on Dr's today I will just say that Doctors are special gifts from God...James

James, so will I love, it's not their professional conduct I'm talking about. Well I'm pleased you like it. It is supposed to be humerous, really.

Kethry, I knew you'd see the humour in this. and I'm glad you liked it too.

Ethome, there's a girl who works in the Pharmacy, now she might do for you. She wears the white coat, she has that a lousy bedside manner, and she might almost be a doctor.   So she might do? And there's another one that is a Physio, (very healthy, keen on a clean mind in a clean body!) wouldn't you fancy some physiotherapy. But as for women docs not a one. But I'll keep my eyes open.
