corralling a cowboy
might seem like a feat
he's quite strong and rugged
and quick on his feet

he'll buck and he'll twist
and stay just out of range
and when you get close
his direction will change

the glare of his belt buckle
blinding your eyes
will slow you enough that
he'll think he's too wise

then all that you need
once he's let down his guard
is a bright friendly smile
it's really not hard

now that he's right where
you want him to be
just lasso him tightly
and don't set him free

a cowboy will try to act
tough till he's smitten
but deep down inside
beats the heart of a kitten

Now hasn't anyone told you the rules to putting a cowboy in a corral. First off, you got to make him believe that he is doing all of the roping and corraling.   Secondly, you have to know that a cowboy likes to roam the range though he does always come home eventually.  Thirdly, yes, a cowboy's heart is always true when he is smitten as you say but this thing about being a kitten????????????...........WELL NOW, THAT is just way to far fetched now isn't it? LOL   I don't know that a cowboy could purrrrrrrrrrr if he tried and if he could, do you think that he would ever admit it?  HHHHHHHmmmmmmmm, well my sweet friend, I have to admit it does feel good to be home in Passions and have a dear friend such as you to find those lovely smiles, but I ain't admittin to being hogtied so easily.LOL.......so how good is your rope anyway?  I know, I know, only of the finest quality!!!!!!     Cheeeezzzzzz, how does a cowboy get caught but not get caught?  I guess I will have to work on that one some!!!  Now, before you think of branding me with that thar iron, just remember...it is the cowboy that does the branding regardless of the new fangled ways of the world and all.     Hugs to you my sweet friend and all that you do and to all of you that came by to see just how to rope and corral a cowboy.

Ethome-SHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.....I never said I wouldn't, I just said I wouldn't admit it.   Now don't go a trying to ruin my image my friend.LOL  Just how many ropes are on me now anyway?  Whew......I hate a tryin to get my spurs untangled from a horse hair rope!!!!!!  Couldn't ya'll have at least made it rawhide so it wouldn't be so darn hard to find the knot?

Vicky,
cute poem,
It doesn't matter that you can make him purrr like a kitten
it only matters that he's not a cur when he's smitten.
Write on

  glad you liked..
  hugs to you..

Mark-
  oh wow...so many rules...so little time..lol.
ya know...i just bet that if someone
scratched a cowboy behind the ears...just
  so...he would purrrrrr like crazy..lol.
of course...i don't expect you to admit
  to that either..lol.
now...as far as that branding thing goes,
you don't have to worry...my branding
iron is in the shop..lol...so i'll just
have to leave that to a capable cowboy..
so glad to finally have you back from
  the range, my sweet friend...
you've definitely been missed by many..
  love and hugs to you..

ethome-
don't worry..i'm not buying into that

  thanks for the friendly words...
  glad you enjoyed.

Mark-
  LOL...nope, we certainly wouldn't want
to spoil your image of being a rough
  and tumble cowboy..lol.
  btw...any kinda rope will do...it's
  the knot-tying ability that counts..
  hugs to you, kitten...

Marsha-
thanks so much for the kind words..
  really glad you enjoyed this..

Kethry-
  lol..thanks for the kind reply..
