Passions Fire

Caught you
from the corner of my eye
a moment ago,
saw an angel sitting there,
smiling at something I could not see;
something that sparked my jealousy,
thinking that it might not be for me.
Funny how,
after all these years,
a little thing like a private smile
could pinch my heart
the way it did,
could make it double-beat,
could twist my ire,
raise a fire
within my chest.
We grow together
with passing years,
we temper fires
that used to consume our souls
with passionate bliss,
we learn to live
with each others faults,
we share a love,
warm and good,
comfortable,
in our wedded space.
Yet,
after all these years,
I caught you
from the corner of my eye,
a moment ago,
and felt the passions fire.

Loved it, absolutely loved it, just like a real conversation in poetry form!

JWesley~
A wonderful smolder to that fire, I'd say.
Beautifully done with a delicacy of delight.

James,

Love it when you write from your heart.  this was a beauty.
