Ballad of Deer

Just as sweet and light
as mom’s homemade cream,
whipped to a perfect peak
flowing in, out of dreams.

Lifting in the Sunday sky
no trees shall hinder flight,
a child imagining he’s there
upon that homemade kite.

Bliss of innocent summers
when we played the days away
before a long line of firsts
took simple joys away.

Love that opens any door
optimism rules all denial
still with hints of innocence
in his turning, twisting style.

Ballads ever sung on key
the songs whispered just
for you
and me.

Corinne,
I'd say it was not only for the Deer it was a tribute befitting and describing the dear.

Ohhh, Toe, now see how you are? You disappear for months on end, then reapeear
with flowers, candy and a proposal - just like that! You are such a tease!

Nope, ain't been sleepin' with Deer, just think he's a sweetheart.

But then, so are you, Toe.

Hi ya Corrine! How in the health are ya? yanno...I could sure use your help right now.....I need to go to the bathroom, I need ya ta come with me....the doctor said I shouldn't pick up anything heavy....okay, so I'm exaggerating, but it must be all the Long Island Teas I had tonight...but, it's still more tempting than that damned old man Balladeer?
