Listening to every heart

When a Whisper is Loud

he called out
long time coming
calling out
looking for home
called out long
continued to roam
he called out
and was always alone

in the alone time he decided he didn't need anyone
in the alone time he thought, "I shall never be undone!"

but…

he called out
looked hither and yon
he kept calling
from dusk till dawn
always calling
from morn till night
somehow couldn't
get it right

in the alone time he decided he didn't need anyone
in the alone time he thought, "I shall never be undone!"

but…

it was then when
he decided to whisper
just the once
he said the words
soft and tender
hardly rendered
and she
whispered back
"I heard"

and this small act
this consequence
left him speechless
and quite spent
he wondered aloud
how could it be
so she quietly
said to he
"but it was when
you whispered to me"

Dumbfounded he was
mute his voice
and he was left
with little choice
for all his life
he had searched and
called and
here it was
his back to the
wall

for she had appeared
as dreams sometimes do
she became real
he could hear and
he could feel
and touch and see
and wonder there at
when all the while
she quietly sat

and whispered
"I love you"

and then
he knew

and was
undone

and
smiled

This is really beautyful...
it is too often that we blaze away like a searchlight, with no chance to see the small but beautyful warm light of a candle...
Thanks for this one!

Sunshine,
This one made me cry. How beautiful the imagery, how serene the whispers. Just captivating.  Can't wait to read more!

Kari, glad you found it, now you know why I think of you as Persephone, beautiful, very clever and the harbringer of spring.
I did tell you I went to a very weird school didn't I.
This really is a fabulous write from you love, utterly wonderful. (And isn't that just like me to keep you up half the night too.
Take care kid

That whisper will be carried on the winds forever my friend.  This was a lovely piece from you and sure to make any man come undone.
