Constant Thoughts Of You I think of you constantly and wonder what if Our lives had come together years ago Would we still be friends You and I? I like to think we would be But what we have now is special to me We've kept in touch through the years Perhaps not as much as I had hoped for But still I can't complain When we talk on the phone Your voice sounds so calm, so masculine I like to hear you speak I could quite easily fall in-love with you again But I will not, we will stay just friends And I will go on thinking of you constantly. The title and the content of this poem make me think that the character thinking in the poem is in love with this man. Seems that way just sounds like it could be a onesided thing and the main character is using the friendship thing to answer any observers question as to the meaning of the relationship...but hey what do I know?? It's a very good poem!! |
