Country Drive By Richard Maxfield 7-13-2000 Driving through the country Just you and I Trees so lush and green Birds sing and fly Passing peaceful meadows Where deer eat and play Sharing our conversation On such a beautiful day Sun is shining bright In a sky of scepter blue Cursing this country road My hand touching you We stop along the road Aside a babbling stream Under the shade of oaks Fulfilling all our dreams I take you by the hand Place it on my heart Declare my eternal Pelage I’ll never part Floating puffy clouds Touching softness of love Gentle peaceful cooing A pair of mated doves My love hold me forever I’ll kiss away your tears Hold you through each night Chase away your fears Open hearts are given Nothing left to spare Together in love forever Our lives to each we share Such a feeling of peace Our love intense, so bright One thing better than today Will be our shared tonight |
