Match to wick,
spark to flame.
Light by which to write ...
words by which to give this ache a name.

Pen on paper,
tears on cheek.
A prayer for clarity,
relief from this pain is what I seek.

The words wont come,
must I beg for every line.
This need so deep ...
mere verse wont define.

Without the rhyme ...
I cease to exist.
My muse again gone,
her grace I need to enlist.

Loss of poetic light,
loss of inspiration.
Loss of muse,
loss of fascination.

If I cant write,
I cant breathe.
Say a prayer for vision ...
grant me poetic reprieve.

I think I could need - this in my life
If you're gone - baby you need to come home
there's a little bit of something me
In everything in you

~Suffer In Silence~

I don't know how to say it poetically,
I'm not gonna dress it up in rhyme.
I lack the fancy words to tell you ...
God, I just miss you all the time.

There's no point in trying to deny it,
I doubt I could even define it with my verse.
What I lost in you seems to have taken my words,
the silence of this ache, now seems to be my curse.

I don't think I'm ever gonna learn,
I have been falling like this for so long.
Still I refuse to say you were a mistake ...
It felt too damn right to ever feel wrong.

So I guess I choose to suffer in silence,
I'll just beg my muse for every single verse and every last line.
I'm not gonna think of you with regret ...
cause with you ... for a little while ... I had a taste of something fine.

from the cd Mad Season

It's amazing
how you make your face just like a wall
how you take your heart and turn it off
how I turn my head and lose it all

It's unnerving
how just one move puts me by myself
there you go just trusting someone else
now I know I put us both through hell

I'm not saying
there wasn't nothing wrong
I just didn't think you'd ever get tired of me
I'm not saying
we ever had the right to hold on
I just didn't wanna let it get away from me ...

Janet--You know I think I saw your muse hanging out with mine on the corner...I stopped to give them a lift...but they turned into words and were gone...I love these reposts, though...your muse can never be still for long...hugs!!

Well girlie...I don't care if it has
(repost) behind it or not...seeing your name
in the forums makes my night...someone here
at my house mentioned something about being
able to write poetry if the phone wasn't
connected to my ear...yayayayaya
That moody muse will return...and blow us
all away once again...I think she does it
for the Dramatic effect... Love ya SS!!!

Your muse is just taking a rest and letting your heart take over. Don't suffer in silence, yell it out on paper, you do it so well.

WOW!   Muses Missing In Action?
They must have taken a vacation on some tropical island. I wonder why they didn't invite us...Geesh...
This is excellent work, no matter if your muse is missing or not.

Janet sweetheart everyone goes through this type of thing, but it can't last for you or me or anyone here because the muse is like the memory it doesn't go away it just doesn't surface sometimes..then all of a sudden..you get a rush of it....like what I've been going through lately but I know there will be slow times and I hate it as much as you do but I also know it won't last long..it may be someone walking down the street with a coat on the same as one you had when you had your first child..or run into an old friend from high school that will stimulate your muse. I remember commenting on this one before but you know it wasn't very long before you were posting great work again...just don't worry cause it's coming back and you can't stop it.
.....take care your old poet pal ethome.....

Janet Marie,
don't ever stand in silence, the poetry's not important... the poetic soul is.
