Never a Tanka
just wrote a Haiku or two
and a Senryu
never knew they existed
so I just had to try one

and I think you almost succeeded...wonderful try...[unless Senryu has three syllables?]

Now pleasure us with some more...

Sunshine~
In Japanese it is pronounced Sen-ree-you, therefore, three syllables

For instance, the Japanese home islands are the Ryuku islands.  Ryuku is pronounced Ree-uke-you

InterLoper~
Absolute perfection on the first attempt -
now where will you go ????
This is truly a wonderful one.
You are in tune with the art.

Then I stand corrected, and it's perfect...and once again, I tuck a new bit of knowledge under my erstwhile belt and head forth, creating new poetry, for a want of new rhyming scheme...

thank you kind person!

To Haiku or not,
It’s just proper form or not,
If done, then you’ve got,
Otherwise, you add more lines
Then Tanka will now define.

Marge~
You ARE too kind.  Now maybe I can start putting something artistic in my Tankas

Sunshine~
I will attempt the Tanka-Haiku-Tanka format one of these days and, as I said above, I will try to be a leetle more artistic in my efforts

Prof-Gloom~
My first time to hear from you.  Thanks.
