Chill
Virginia Salter

Chill
that’s what they say
when anger or anxiety
try to have their way.

A derivative
of being cool
that not a soul shall know
you’d rather be anywhere
but standin’ in this horrid mire
wonderin’ where to go.

Yes
standin’ here
lips going black
as oxygen speeds away
threatening to steal your joy
and carry you away.

Away
on fragile wings
that break with little blow
leavin’ you hanging
from the eaves
above the raging snow.

Snow of life
that’s filled with pain
and stretches
tear to tear
making wishes
necessity
to carry you
through fear

It’s hard to chill, When blood boils,
But the coldness of spirit is difficult to defrost,
Chilling never has been my problem,
An interesting write.

I have found myself in this postion trying to look cool and in control. When all I can think of is where to run and hide.
Loved the way you put this together.

I enjoyed this, Virginia, the message and the construction! Very good!
