Come Cozy With Me

Homefires a'flame in the age'd stone hearth.
Dried herbs twined in bunches on wrought iron hooks.
Adorning nicked railshelf; antiquities proud,
The handed-down Bible among Primer books.

Come cozy with me on the softness of wool
that weavers have lovingly made on lone nights...
when men to the stable spun tales to their ale,
the ladies wore thimbles and aprons of insight.

Come cozy with me as the Spring's warming breeze
finds entrance through cracks in the rafters of old;
where once-shadowed corner housed nestling of wrens...
Imagine their chirping as daybreak enfolds.

Fine crackle, soft hissing, pine kindling enflares,
Hypnotic the curtain of flaming orange glow;
Come cozy with me in this peaceful abode.....
Share memories where forefathers lived long ago.

...chanson~

Music, tonal clear & pure,
Caresses the harshest of curves.
-Song of Gesture

That you can live in such a storied house - I'm most envious! - a wonderful picture you paint - it attracts me like a moth to flame.

The only thing missing in my own home is the fireplace. I burn alot of scented candles though. (A poor substitute, I know)

Chanson~
This is so nostalgically lovely ...
Oh ... it's just the coziest of images.

the ladies wore thimbles and aprons of insight.'

Beautiful !

Come cozy with me as I read your words
Come cozy with me as we listen to the fall birds
Come cozy with me with a mug of apple cider
Come cozy with me as my smile gets wider

Come cozy with me against the embers aglow
Come cozy with me in memories of times long ago
Come cozy with me as we warm against roar of fire
Come cozy with me know that you are my hearts desire

What a wonderful and warming verse from you.  Just loved it and hope you didn't mind me adding what "I" thought would be your honeys reply to you.  I am sure he would feel something of this sort or he would have to bonkers.
