  I Lie

It is hard to say exactly where in life that I have been
And, I only counted on myself when I needed a friend
So, I just took those years far inside my mind
Found truth in it all that I have missed for some time...

It was always that I had wondered where life would surely lead
And, every time I wandered off I led right back to me
From a child until now and from the moment it began
I lie, I just lie, about who I really am...

So, then the years just found me there where I was never alone
But, the heart I vowed to love just wasn't my way home
I lived the life I thought I was meant to live forever
And, found the days even longer when the nights found us together...

I tried to walk the righteous road to a far and better place
I tried to endlessly fill this left out lonely space
But, I carried through the honest way and the even lonelier me
I lie, I just lie, and try so hard to make believe...

So, further down this road I found some peace of mind at last
Though there are moments I can't help but to still look on back
I am truer to myself now but to others they don't see
I lie, I just lie, about my soul flying free...

I did find a single journey that at least I can say
I've finally lived a newer me on one July day
And, it was awesome beyond words and surely how I vowed to live
And, a way I'll fight until I die as a purer way to give...

So, now I lie, I just lie, perfectly in the arms I choose
And, now, there's never a day that again I'll ever lose
Cause, I lie, Oh, I lie, before the truth and my true love
Lie before my wish, my friend, everything I've dreamed of...

Have you ever known the color grey when the nighttime finds you weak
I have, I've walked that road each time; that's where my angel sleeps
