All too often,
I get caught up
In all of my situations,
And, yet again,
Fail to express
How much you are needed.

When we were little,
You sacrificed all you had
For our needs.
You laid your wants aside
Just to provide for us.

Years have passed,
We have grown,
But some things have not changed.
As I get caught
In my everyday crises,

You are still there
To bail me out, without hesitation.
Even when there is no way,
You still find one
To get me out of this mess once again.

I know there are too many days
That I have spent selfishly;
I’ve found that
Far too many times
I have been preoccupied.

So, I want to take this time,
Now,
To tell you
That I’m not quite sure
What my life would be

If I didn’t have you here
To guide me continuously
When I so frequently
Have no idea
What to do next.

Although words
Are certainly not sufficient,
I take this opportunity
To thank you
For all you’ve given.

I’m sure I speak
For all of us
When I say
Thank you for everything,
And, I love you!!

(I just wrote this for my mom after reading Aimster's "Six Years Ago Today."  Thanks, Aimster, for the inspiration!)

This is a poem she will hold dear to her heart forever. It expresses your love and appreciation so well. That's something everyone should do more often

Paula:  thanks!  glad you enjoyed!

Tears:  yes, Aimster's poem turned something on in my heart and told me I had to write this.  I haven't even given it to my mom yet.  Figured I'd start her Monday off with a good cry.     Thanks!!

Thanks, Liz.  You sneaked in there on me while I was replying to Paula and Tears.  It's definitely something I've been wanting to do for some time now.  I can't wait to see her reaction!  Glad you liked!!

Marge:  thanks!  Monday is always a bad day for her, so I figured that's the best time to do it.
