Mom, exactly six years ago today
You passed from our life and went up above
In the six years since
I still feel surrounded by your love

You were more than my Mom
My best friend indeed
And I just wanted to let you know
You're still the greatest gift yet I've recieved

Your kind blue eyes had me from day one
The gentleness in your voice said it would be okay
I'll never forget all that you've done for me
In your own special and caring way

Losing you was hard
Harder than anything I've ever done
There was a time when I swore
That never again would I love

I think you heard me talking to you
Late nights while I lay in bed
I think you been snooping around (lol)
And my mind you have read

For I am no longer blue
I smile when I see your face
And I know that it was your time
To leave and go beyond this "place"

In God's hands you are safe
And able to do the work you were meant to
So fly my angel
And someday again in heaven...I will see you

~*dedicated to my mom who passed away on Oct 1, 1994. We all love you very much!!

you just need to kissed for this one sweetie
and you are ... kissed by an angel
You could pay her no sweeter tribute than to say
you have been able to let go of the pain.
She needs no sweeter tribute than to see you grow in to the wonderful, beautiful young woman you have become.

Aimster,

Beautiful tribute Aimster.  You brought a tears to my eyes while reading this. My mother is still here..and the mere thought of losing her... well I'd be lost.  I'm sure your mom is beaming with pride for you.

Amy, this is such a beautiful tribute to your mom. I too miss those who have gone before me, but I know they are watching over me and aren't really 'gone'. Good work.

Amy, your love for her shines so very brightly and I know that she is watching over you and smiling right now just knowing and FEELING this love.  You have given us all something to cherish not only in your words but for allowing us to feel them as well.  Excellent penning.

I'm so sorry for the loss of your mom even six years later doesn't take away all of the hurt but your poem shows that you have found some comfort in the time that has past.  You'll carry that piece of her with you for as long as you live.

Beautiful, beautiful poem!  You've brought tears to my eyes.  I haven't lost my mom, but lately, I've learned quickly that, without her, I'm not sure where I'd be.  Thanks for sharing such a wonderful poem!

We grieve with you this day, and yet can truly say...
Today was likely filled with scenes like these...
Held safe in our fathers arms so tenderly, a talk, then a walk through meadows of green, surrounded by golden daffodils.
She passes a gate made of finest pearls, to walk on streets of pure gold.
Mom would likely say to you this day...
Just be here someday, just be here

Amy, my friend~
How much this poem meant to me ...
as I also am still trying to come to grips
with losing my mother.

Her memories wash over me in torrents ...
I find comfort in remembering.

*Hugs* to you, sweet lady.
