~Only Women Bleed~

Wide open, full throttle ...
unchecked, unabashed ... never ending need.
Watch as the wound opens again,
watch as my heart (and pen) begin to bleed.
There's way too much of me here ...
and it's way too much for you.
You cant handle me like this,
not even if you hang the moon ... then paint it blue.
Stand back from this flame ...
as I intend to burn.
Can you feel my heat ...
do you know I never learn.
A spark never extinguished,
no one can satiate this desire.
On your best day ...
you cant put out this emotional fire.
Write my name across the midnight sky,
and still I wont know content.
Give sacrifice on bended knee ...
and still ... this ache of mine will not relent.
Paint me a rainbow ... catch me a falling star,
try as you might ... it's never ... ever ...enough.
I'm sorry ... I don't mean to be like this,
I'm trying to spare you ... go ... before the going gets rough.
I've just always been this way ...
always restless, never satisfied.
Don't try to keep up with me,
I'll only leave you regretting having tried.
Don't take it all so personally,
it's not about you ... it's about me.
Don't let me drag you on my way down ...
you know ... misery loves company.
So just let me throw this fit ...
just stand back ... stay out of the way.
And you should know ... if you miss it ...
there will be another one ... come light of day.
So kiss me once ... kiss (or kick) me twice ...
then let the games begin.
But remember you were warned ...
my pleasure always ends up my chagrin.
(I just take it on the chin)
(and then I bleed again)

Janet Marie

Janet--When you can express the ache like you do...torch it, burn it...pour it out into cyberspace...then you light the whole sky.  You have power in your words...that's a good thing!

So what you are saying is that you are not just an 8 second bull in the rodeo of need!!!  Hhmmmm good thing life comes with a back brace to fit into.  Now I know that you can be a Witch with a capital "B" at times but isn't that what makes you special and more passionate when you are being loved as well.  Excellent write my friend and you already know that I love this one.

"Don't let me drag you on my way down ...

what a fiery piece! there are just some lessons that must be learned the hard way. and there are some of us who never really think the hard way is right, so we always go back for more...
people say that we all need a helping hand, but sometimes that hand just holds us back.

what fantastic thoughts...
for most poets, learning the hard way is the only way. (and it's great subject matter for writing!)
as always, my smile shines in admiration and my hope glimmers for you. great writing.

someone should check the lock on that assylum door...

I liked this one.  I kinda found it intense and that kept my attention all the way through.  Although you clarified that women do not have a lock on pain, they do show and deal with a lot better than men.(coming from a male prospective)

this poem does bleed and ache, so much so that I just want to give you a huge hug and let you know that your friends are close by.
Oh Jan, again I am blown away by your poetry emotionally raw and honest... I hope that the pain and heartache eases quickly. I wish I had words of comfort but all I can say is I am here anytime   take care Eve-super-poet-agator.

BETTER have a Capital baby!!!!

Janet Marie....girl, you are a TIGRESS!!! Wow! Of course you know that telling a man to stay away because you're too much for him only makes him more determined to show you that you're not...where's the sign-up sheet?

This is incredibly good writing, btw

JanetMarie~
This is very deep and heartfelt, my dear friend.  I know what you mean in this.  But don't worry, we all go through this ( I know -- I do, too), but I don't think I'll turn and walk away.  If I get caught up in your fit, I can weather out the storm.  But know that you have a friend beside you!!!!

Love Ya~
