Birched Beauty

slender and white
rising high
against fall's
bluest sky
birch beauty is splendor
in motion
commotion heaves
among fall leaves
and birch grows slowly
naked,
to await winter's gray
and starker days
to come
forever reaching upward
toward it's crown
of stardust glory
or to tickle with
skeletal fingertip
sun's chin, as an entreaty
for yet a little more shine
from which a new
dress of spring
sprung green
shall bloom,
all for the
reclothing of
the birch beauty
in splendor

Karilea,
the image of the silver birch now floats in my mind. Lovely poem.

Karilea~
What a lovely, lovely presentation
of the beauty of the exfoliating birch.

I enjoyed the little internal alliteration and rhymes too.

birch beauty

motion
commotion

spring
sprung green

Nice piece, my friend.

Karilea, after the wonderful way you have described this beautiful tree, I shall no longer think it an insult when I hear of a woman described as a birch.  Great free verse, with just the hint of rhyme strategically placed.

Kethry, thank you...

Marge, thrills me when I tickle you...

LJA, never, ever, see anything but beauty when you see a birch...possibly one of the loveliest compliments to give any woman...

Sy, Sir, do you peek into my heart?

you ..... you ...... you birch you!!!!!! There does that get me any points????  Just teasing Karilea!!!   You have read my poetry and you have seen how I love nature and all that she offers and this one is so beautiful and represents why nature is a woman residing within the soul of father earth.  You have painted a true beauty with this one that will forever bring spring foilage to me as each time I remember it.  Probably one of your best but it is hard to say as there are so many but this one I will remember for many many years to come and more.

Yeah !
Come on Cowboy ... to your knees in submissive sorrow for your errant ways !
Into the corral with you ...
you've done roped yourself into a tizzy !

There's two ranch hands here that can lasso
a cowboy and brand him 'chauvanistic' ...
or 'wise' ... how hot you want the iron ???
LOL !
None of that bamboozling will be tolerated either !

Karilea ... your turn to ride shotgun !
Them cowboys are sneaky critters ... stay alert !

Karilea------

HEY HEY HEY HAULTTT!!!!!!!

Now I called you a birch and according to your poem that is one hell of a compliment and it was you that said it was one of the loviest compliments to give a woman...go read your response to that pirate dude.   Now just accept the compliment, take off your boots(after you and Marge brand me)and enjoy life a little.LOL

Now MARGE- What is this about cowboy crossing lines and such.  You know better but if you and Karilea are up to the ride of your life then heck yeah woman.....come and get this cowboy and just try that lasso thing of yours.  You will more than likely find out that this here cowpoke can ride the reins all weekend long and into Monday when you will use some lame excuse to go to work.LOL....if'n you are still conscience that is.LOL

Come on the both of ya....let cowboy show ya both how much of a gentleman he can be.  Or are we just gonna rest on our heels and say oh well....maybe not????

Karilea~
Where are you ?
There's this cowboy strutting around leaving boot prints all over the territory ...

Father ??? Earth ???
Hello !  We all know Mother Earth reigns supreme !
She merely allows you to exist here
under the serene skies covering Eden's garden.

Now what's this ?
Why would someone who appears to be an above-average intelligence cowboy want to go and ruffle the feathers of two cowgirls ?

Why, Cowboy ... I think you've been rode hard and put up wet !
Better just settle down for a nappy !

We love you, but ain't trekking all the way to Texas ... on something as frivolous as a threat ... You got any promises around ???
LOL !

OMG ! ... did you say this ???
quote:
man has two hearts and two brains

Karilea~  Hurry, he's delusional !
LOL !  Love ya', Cowboy !

Karilea

A truly lovely poem -

I must add a addendum about LngJhnAg:

When He was just a tender sapling He asked a big oak:
"Am the son of a birch or the son of a beech?"
The old oak replied: "I don't know son but your mother was a heck of a big Ash"

(hope you enjoyed   )

Marge-yeah I said it and so what.....you of anyone know that I am delusional right now as I have no butterflies in my back yard and so what if I haven't slept in 4 days....gimme a break.LOL....but I do so love ruffling up your little white feathers and so now I will concede that you are right and I was only trying to vent in amongst friends that would allow me to and  still love me in the end.  Thank you so much but be ready for another go on one of your posts.LOL.....I ain't really done just yet, just need to go take the horse out for some fresh air.LOL...

But I still hold to the two hearts and two brains Even you can't deny that one...cause you women complain about it all the time....not saying you aren't justified but you do all the same.

I LOVE YOU both dearly....now come gimme a group hug and then brand me a little with those hot lips of yours
