Ghouls and Goblins , Witches , Warlocks , pumpkins and black cats
Does any-one know what to do with newt and wing of bat ?
Funny , scary , I don't carry , stock in such nonsense
But with all the talent here this could get quite intense ...Boo!

My own little contribution I call ...

             " Silence! "
No measure of historic time can gauge it's first black thought
Pre-dating the primordial slime an essence purely wrought
of darkest deeds as yet un-done that lie beyond our ken
A thing of such malevolence it harkens of the end

For eons it has laid in wait for one to speak it's name
Accursed is the nether-world the region whence it came
With machinations bent to serve but one un-holy cause
An evil of such great intent that here I must give pause

What scarce was known has been forgot by all but for a few
Lovecraft sensed what most did not though Poe percieved it too
And so it waits with patience born out-side of space and time
Lest some un-witting fool as me shall use it's name in rhyme

So be ye ever vigilant in dreams lest it may creep
forth into this waking world beyond the bounds of sleep

I can't believe it is almost Halloween again!! Wooohooo!! I love seeing all the little ones dressed up and soooo excited!! As for the challenge, is it okay to repost my poem from last Halloween or do I have to torture my brain to come up with something original?! Great poem!!

Bubble bubble soil and shovel
Freddy sifts through Barneys' rubble ...
or something like that

Well ... it scared me!

Picture this... Out of the primordial slime slips forth a Deep One... in each a hand a black and orange pom-pom.  He grins his frog like grin and begins his sacred chant...

Give me a 'C'
For the crazed look in your eye.
Give me a 'T'
For the terror in your cry.
Give me an 'H'
For the horror I spin.
Give me a 'U'
For the ugliness within.
Give me an 'L'
For the lost souls I crave.
And one more 'H'
For the Hell that's your grave
Finish it with 'U'
And call me Cthulu
Ancient fiend of water deep
Your favorite all hollows eve creep.

Gooooooo Cthulu!

Dr. Moose, what a style you have. Surely E.A. himself must be nodding his approval from the depths at this brilliant, somewhat maddening composition. Wonderful writing, I have shivers on my skin!
