Listening to every heart

To Turn and Behold

she turned about
and around
and glimpsed,
one early morning,
at the feel of
a thought,

and although the
songbirds were welcoming
the morning,
Ra's rays were
dancing with the
dust motes,
and the breeze still
smelled of starshine
and leftover moonlight

she beheld the
stranger
that had been
harboring
this bizarre, inner
period
for some time,
and whom had
finally made a
quiet entrance,

this peculiar
individual that
seemed as unique
in stature as
any one
seemingly female
might be,
if they could
be unique from
others' comparisons,

and she turned,
and faced the
stranger of her
inner soul,
on hearing
the faint sound of
a lonesome
thought,

and in her reason
she felt
the warmth of
the exclusive
embrace
which allowed
as to let her
discern

it would be
all right
for all
time

and confidently
welcomed into
her heart
this new friend…

and felt then
again as one
as she
acquiesced age

Acquiesce not... too much to do... too much to see...

Nice poem, though... for sure..

Sunshine, you are coming up with more styles than I can keep track of...and each one is better than the one before....and I have NEVER seen Ra outside of a crossword puzzle!

Kidding aside, this poem is very special

Sunshine,

Nice writing and interesting concept.  It is through self acceptance that we are able to achieve inner peace and happiness.  Well said.

LoneWolf, as you say...it is so...when I turn 92...until then, I'm going to wrinkle in laughter...

Sunshine ~ Is this acquiesence going to take place on your 92nd birthday in Egypt?

Thanks for putting self acceptance into verse.  A good lesson for all.

Kari, wonderful, utterly amazing poem, I really love this one Kari. Your work is so awesome it just keeps getting better and better. (I'm not one to stiffle poetic inspiration, but can't you slow down just a little. I'm running out of superlatives with you.)And then what will I do, I'll have to find some more I suppose. Can't quite see myself doing that scene from Aladdin, where the wicked Ebernaza, goes round giving new lamps for old. Only in my case it would be, new superlatives for old. (Oy! psst, got any old praise going, I can give you 4 wonderfuls for that missus)
Sorry I'm in a frivalous mood, it's one of those days.
Take care

Karilea~
Much reflection here -

'and she turned,
and faced the
stranger of her
inner soul,
on hearing
the faint sound of
a lonesome
thought,'

Hey ... I got one of those too
or is that two ?

Sometimes I think you're at the boutique
trying on different styles -
this one becomes you !
