There are so many things I'll do
To make a love stay true.
Honor, cherish, trust are just
A few things I will do.
There also are things I won't do -
Some games I will not play
For I have learned in life:
Where there's a won't - there is a way.

I won't forget the fact that,
When I gaze upon your skin,
The secret of your beauty lies
There deep somewhere within.
I won't forget to count the blessings
You provide each day
By being in my life -
Where there's a won't - there is a way.

I won't forget sincerity
That you have given me.
I won't forget that you have shown me
Truth and honesty.
I won't forget to love you each
And every single day
For making me alive -
Where there's a won't - there is a way.

I won't forget the way you held
My feelings in your hand
And spoke to me in gentle tones
To help me understand.
There is no crystal ball around...
One has to live each day.
As long as love's alive...
Where there's a won't - there is a way.

Ever notice how 'Deer takes something so special...and makes it everlasting?

This is terrific 'Deer, but then, we don't expect anything but the best from you, whether in poetry, philosophy, or just out and out "great" from your heart!  Well done...

Ball, I'd like to add a verse, just in case!

and if a won't - goes away
Could you just come, out and play
don't be scared of, little me
I'll protect you from this world just wait and see

Your mighty busy - changing hats
gets confusing, just where you're at
that's okay, dear, I understand
it's quite a act you have to juggle on your hands

Well said as per usual my friend.
A veritable ocean of feeling.

I won't forget there is NO ONE who does a romantic ballad like you.  I loved this one.

I won't forget the hand that pens
Such tender, lovely lines,
For truly, you're a treasure deer,
Whose brilliance brightly shines.

What an abundance of exceptional work I've read from you the last few days Michael ... it's been my pleasure to read each and every one ... beautiful flow in this sentimental piece, very lovely!

Best wishes,
/Kit

I don't know any Poet
who can write their heart like you.
There's no-one in this world so huge
who speaks a truer true.
There's things you do in poetry
which chase away the blue
with love and honesty -
where there's a don't, there is a do.

I don't believe in magic
but I do believe in love.
I don't assume conclusions
within facts there's little of.
I don't take passioned kisses
as an ecstasy soon passed -
I wish you bliss with all its gifts
that grows for you and lasts.

There's things I know about you
from the sincere words you write.
I don't assume your poetry
is something taken light.
I don't feign deep emotions
as I do respond to you --
My 'deer, your words renew --
where there's a don't there is a do.

well, mine didn't come even close to yours but it was just my way of telling you how very special i think this poem is and how it touched my heart.... you are a wonderful person, Michael... thank you for sharing this. (((((hug)))))
