Blinders of Love...Ethome Inspired

The past will haunt me forever.
So many years of built up "feels".
Pushed back to depths, unphantomed,
To counteract, what's become real.

My eyes, of hazel, saw moondust,
Sparkles and twinkling of night.
Words of endearment and loving
Would capture, enrapture, enlight.

Naive, idealistic when youthful,
His presence would thrill me, so much.
His eyes would reach out in the stillness,
Holding with gentlest touch.

Today all that's left are the blinders.
Tattered and worn from their use.
Realities nightmares are followed
By the shadows, his words could produce.

~Wynter

( I know, E. ..not very positive, but your poem brought these words to mind)

no it isn't positive but it's life, it's the way it is sometimes and you have captured this situation quite well.  Good writing.

Hey wynter that's such a wonderful compliment you're shelling out there and God bless you for the heart to search the depths of your feelings and write them down here. Positive or not they expose the shadowed pain that many keep within...out of the dark side comes another type of beauty that surfaces to bring the soul out to communion with others.. I am very pleased to even think you could be inspired by something I wrote but I am also glad that I was able to inspire you to post it here where you can share those feelings with so many that understand....take care.. ethome.

Life is not always positive but two things positive about this one is that you found the inspiration from one of our best poets in the forums and the other is that you penned a wonderful and beautifully flowing verse of your own.  Loved it and nice to see inspiration flowing these days instilled from other poets works.

It's obvious the hurt you've suffered from someones words and actions...but that is the person who is truly blind to see what you have to offer...we are all blessed to have your company here...so take off those blinders and look ahead...the horizon awaits...and remember you are deserving of all the best...keep that in mind...and brighter days will follow

Tossing words like wishful coins into the deep well of an open heart. R. fox

Truer words were never, Wynter my friend. . .

Inspired indeed. . .

The memories will always be there, but sometimes you do need to push them back down to get through. Well done!
