We're not really so different
Though it seems that we are
It's just that you're oblivious
To what's going on here
For us on this side
Seems like chaos is winning
For you over there
Seem numbed to that shame
Don't you feel the pain
Are you going too fast
Caught up in yourselves
In your own personal rat trap
Are you really too busy
To listen a while
Have you developed blindness
To the needs that cry out
It's not that we're different
You versus me
It's just that you're crippled
Because you won't see
It's never too late
To open your eyes
Look all around you
See where beauty abides
Now is the time
For all of us here
To join as one family
To conquer the fears
I can't help but love you
You may not know why
When I look at your soul
I see me inside you

If only people would stop listening to themselves just for a little while, and try to listen to the thoughts and needs of those around them. Communication won't work if someone doesn't listen!  Great poem!!

Thank you all for stopping and reading and for your comments...I was thinking on how we all seem so disconnected from each other sometimes...the differences are played up too much, but deep inside, we're all the same....don't know if I quite got that feeling out or not...but that's what I was trying for.  Thank you again, for your kind words, much appreciated

It's not what makes us different. . . it's what makes us the same. . .

Great poem Pepper. . .
