There is a sweet simplicity
in every single child
an honesty that only children know,
we are the teachers in their lives
teaching them to grow.

They carry a happiness in their heart
that as adults we often forget,
but when one hears a little childs laughter
we remember those days without regret.

Can we as adults remember the way
to teach a child to be kind,
and give them encouragement
to be strong and true
and ever expand their mind?

Can we install values and morals
things that now seem to be in the past,
can we pass them on to our children
in hopes that they will continue to last?

Let us set their feet upon a path
to always be faithfull and true,
to give these gifts to a  child
is the greatest thing we as parents can do.

We as adults could learn lessons from them
their honesty meek and mild,
let us not forget the lessons that are taught
within the simplicity of a child.

On the wings of words our spirits fly, and our souls are free.

I think we can all learn from our children, if we are only wise enough to learn from them.  Thanks Marge.

I wish I could of captured the sweetness of my sons, before they got old enough to go out into the world. I love the children that they were, but the adult they are now is not the same.
This was a very well written poem, thank you.

Inot, our children do grow and go out into the world, and all we have of there youth is our memories,
and the hope and prayer that they can also recall some of there youth to stay young in their adulthood.
Oh darn, I do hope that made sense....Thanks!

Denise, I don't know about how wise, but more just how I wish the world could sometimes stop and take
a break and look at the children, they have so much to offer.  They are the future.  Thanks muchly.

Alle my friend, thank you, and yes.....I do know.  I am just grateful that someone read and understood.

Sven, as always, thank you for your kind insight.
