To My Daughter

You are daddy's little girl
You are such a little pearl
You are part of your mother
Like you there is not another
You are one of a kind
Always on my mind
You were a sight to behold
As you crossed my worlds threshold
You came into the world so bold
I have found much joy
In the hugs you freely give
In the songs we sing
The curiosity in your eyes
The pranks you pulled
The laughter it brings
As I take you from pigtails
To wedding bells
You will always be
My own little angel
Daddy's little girl
I love you

This is heart rending, and beautiful words. Thank you for sharing this with us.

Oh Alan, this is so so precious. And I do understand the feeling. My first baby is 18 and I just watched her give birth to her first baby and whewwww that was really something. But as you said, she will always be my baby.. Lovely poem and so nice to see a Dad loving his child this way.
