Often I would go to the beach
in the evenings of summer
and let the cooled sand
cover my toes as they dug in.
I would walk up near the water
sitting down in the sand
letting the mist engoulf me
and the sound of the water light me.
On these evenings my mind would soar
through the days of summer trips
taken on the motorcycle on northern roads
that led me to my own brand of salvation.
Those nights on the beach alone
gave me strength to survive my hell
and in those times I found words
that I would put to paper.
Those words became my outlet
my due course of what I should believe
a pathway to my feelings
and my hearts soul.
Now I long for that beach
and those nights alone on it
but only to share those times
with one whom I love and long for.
And in those moments now alone,
when I look to the moon and cry
I know she looks at the same sky
holds her breath, and we are one.

Very beautiful Michael........as is all you do. Funny how one moon has so much meaning to so many people...it just makes the world feel smaller somehow.

Definitely identifying with you here.  Great write.
