tomorrow, today, the same as one
yesterday, last week, can't be undone
the paths of the future, glimmer and shine
the road you had traveled, creates a line
a line to be walked, yet seldom straight
a line unbroken, even if you're late
free form and floating, yet solid as rock
here today there tomorrow, the same as stock
can't predict it, can't even deny
the road ahead, will cause someone to die
too many paths cross each other
a sister, a wife, and even a mother
a name, a face, a simple loving hand
a place you knew, your favorite band
everything, something, nothing for sure
the same could be said for what was once pure
smile and laugh when you wish to cry
because tomorrow might be the day you die

"There were times in my life
when I was going insane
tryin to walk through
the pain
when I lost my grip
and I hit the floor
yeah I thought I could leave but couldn't get out the door" - Aerosmith "Amazing"

Your words are wise, my young friend... and I hope you're OK and not being sent anywhere near all the skirmishes that are befalling the world these days...

I often wished that Steven Tyler could have been a poet, with that kind of emotion and intensity, he would have been a great one! I liked this.

A very gripping piece Des, and so very true.
One never knows what the future holds.
You've expressed these thoughts well.
This one is going into my library!

I don't know how I missed this. As usual, too late, but it sounds like growing and learning to me! ((hugs)) Wherever you are, I'm sending prayers.
