--- Eyes Of The heart ---

The eyes of the heart always see strongest.
The eyes of the heart remember the longest.
The eyes of the heart see the lovers gone by.
They remember the hurts that led us to cry.

They would guide you with wisdom, to a love that could last.
They would see through Adonis and help you look past.
But the eyes of the heart are sadly, part blind,
The eyes of the heart see only behind.

When your heart's eyes look back, to the now and the here,
When the Adonis you chose has left you in tears,
When your heart’s eyes have opened, to what always was there,
Will the eyes of my heart, allow me to care ?

beautuful LS...
perfect rhyme flow ..
and very cool usage of the eyes and heart as metaphors ...
and I like the last verses question..
yes... how long will ones heart wait for anothers eyes to be opened ...
great writing
take care

Thanks for stopping in for a read. I'm not a prolific writer because I don't usually write unless inspired. So when nothing is going on with my life, the pen runs temporarily dry. I am particularly honored that you added this piece to your library. That always lets me know that I got that spot deep down inside.

This is most definately my favorite of yours
to date...I of course reserve the right to
update that decision as needed as I can tell
with each poem you grow more as a poet each
time...this is beautiful...we should all see
with the eyes of our heart as you have shown
so beautifully~

As you stated, when your pen flows it really flows.  This is a beautiful piece of work and the eyes of the heart always see what is truely there unmasked and in all life's essence.

I enjoyed this..yes sometimes the eyes play tricks on the heart..or as another poet i know said..sometimes love plays a joke on us..but we forget to laugh..

Butterflies - Thank you for stopping by to have a read. I think it is so interesting that some poems touch different people. That was just a quick jotting down of feelings that I had.

Mark - Thanks for the compliment. I try not to write for the sake of writing. Sometimes I wish I could coax more out of myself but it just doen't work. Is it just me ? Or do others find this to be true ??

serenity - It's a shame that it DOES happen this way, we seem to be in such disarray everyone looking for the right person.

Victoria - Thanks for the read. You are right, our heart plays tricks. I suppose there is something we should be learning from these tricks. If you have a clue what we should be learning, I'm all ears LOL.

insect -    Backatcha! I can always use a smile huh !
---------------------------------------------
SEA - I'm glad you liked the poem. I try very hard to slip a little lesson in my poems. Hopefully it isn't lost in the reading and hopefully the author can retain his own lessons.
---------------------------------------------
Gentle Spirit - I am flattered, to be in another writers library means a lot to me.

Gemini - I'm very glad you liked it, Thank you.

Paula Finn - "when you look at me dont look at my face...but at the heart within...Thats where true beauty resides" That is so wonderfully stated. truely you undertand the content and frustration of my message.
---------------------------------------------
Charisma - "thank you for sharing this beautiful poem with us." Poetry is nothing more than sharing our feelings in a way that people want to bother to hear them     :^)     thanks for listening

Oh, if only the eyes of the heart could see as cleary looking forward as they do looking back we could be spared so much pain....but then probably miss out on many pleasures as well.  Nicely written.

this was a very heartwarming poem and so true that so often our heart looks back and not forward, the heart does see so many things even when you think you have your heart blindfolded, enjoyed this alot.
