Empty heart
of circumstance
wallflower
at the dance
trying to
avoid each glance
and stop my toe
from tapping...

Turned away,
left unappraised,
a teardrop stain
on journal's page.
Closed the book,
my entry made:

"He never asked me..."

Boy does this strike a nerve, you have in a few words been able to capture the emotion of the left out. This screams out LOOK AT ME !!   TALK TO ME !!!  GIVE ME A CHANCE !!

VERY touching I hurt for her as I read every word. Excellent!

Heartfelt indeed..i remember those days wanting to be a teenager..and hurt that the pretty teenage girls were getting the dances instead of me..
as i stood with my ankle socks on haa..

RJ---I don't believe I've greeted you properly...Welcome to passions, and thank you for your kindness.  I'm trying to catch up on my reading now...

LS--thank you again for the much-needed smile.

Marge--I've missed you!  Thanks and hugs.

Sea---thank you much.  I enjoy your work also.

Victoria--y'know, I seldom went to dances and this is why...was total terror for me.  Believe it or not, I was painfully shy.  Thanks for reading!

Louder and stronger

The music of poetry in
