They flow
When life is slow
When heart fills up with sorrow
When pain wants no tomorrow
When there is no one to follow

They can be of happiness
Or, of sadness
Or, for loneliness
Or, in time of duress
Or, when there is darkness.

They come, they hurt
Making us realise our weaknesses
Describing our failures
Turning us into nightowls
Tearing us apart
Leaving us to fight on
Winning, we overcome.

Your words ring so true, friend...  It is obvious that you know well of what you speak, not that that is neccasarily a good thing.  A wonderful, and quite accurate, poem indeed; I am deeply touched by it's relation to me and my own life experiences.
I look foward to seeing more of your posts.

Daniel, once again you words touch me with their emotion. The truth in them is so close to how I have felt so many times lately.
I am looking forward to reading more and more.

Your kind thoughts are much appreciated.
Tears are around us all, we need to reach out more often.

JD~
Oh .... so much truth in what you've written.
And there are many to catch the tears and
hold them for us ...
just as we need to hold the tears of others.

Well said, my friend.

Dee,

In tears we can often find ourselves, particularly as we get older we tend to hold on to our feelings.

Thank you for your kind thoughts

Tears whether they be sweet or salty will always quench the thirst of the heart in the matter of moments chance.  Nice read this morn.

Yes, they flow and like the rain they often leave a promise, afterward. I enjoyed this.

Daniel...but how many tears do you have to cry before the pain goes away? Can you tell me?

One of life's sad truths you've written about here; sometimes pain is renewing, sometimes it tears us down.  Beautiful thoughts in this one.

Irish Rose,
Sorry for the delay in replying. Your words are very comforting.

Paula,
Yes they do show hurt, but at the same time it makes realise our innerself is strong.

Azure,
Thank you so much, I am so glad you enjoyed this poem. It takes a few tears to understand love.

Respond to my call and let the waves of my heart fill your life with the wonders of love
