State of constant confusion!

0 posted 2000-04-30 12:07 PM

I am the one who writes the songs
of the journey of my heart
I am the only one to blame when things
  don't go my way
I am the person that makes me who I am

I am a proud father of two wonderful
  little boys
I am a loving husband to my wife
  whom I adore
I am who I am because I have them

I am a recovering alchoholic for six
  years and counting now
I am on my to a brighter future because
I have learned from my mistakes
I have endured and conquered simply
  because

I AM

but dreams can be so real when you don't know you're asleep

I must agree with Netswan..very finely written.  It takes great bravery and determination to do what you have, and for that, I salute you.

and you're there for me ...

Very inspiring ...

Love your quote, BTW ... don't know you're sleeping, indeed ...

--Kess

Full fathom five thy father lies,
Of his bones are coral made,
Those are pearls that were his eyes;
Nothing of him that doth fade
But doth suffer a sea-change
Into something rich and strange...

Thank you all sooo much. I used to be ashamed of my past, but I have realized that I have nothing to be ashamed of. I am headed for a brighter future. The only one who stop me progressing is me. It doesn't matter what anyone thinks of me or my past. I know I will provail, and that is good enough for me.

All my love,
Jeffrey

Jeffrey, the only people that have no future are those who don't learn from their past. Great poem, and best of luck!
