An Angel or A Mother?

So much has been taken away
So much seems unreal
So much endured in just one day
So much for One to feel

This one I speak of
The one that owns my respect
The giver of so much love
And the strong urge to protect

As she often watches her son
Fight for the strength to go on
Praying he won’t say he’s done
Sitting nights unmoved beyond dawn

My words could never tell you
What this woman means to me
As I watch all she’s been through
The things a mother should not see

I’ve asked her how she does it
For one day would leave me weak
She says she does what she sees fit
Just like any mother...no great feat

I beg to differ, I don’t think so
She must be an Angel like no other
Sent to care for this boy and help him grow
An Angel given the esteemed title of...MOTHER.

Dedicated to my Dear friend Monika. You may have heard me speak of Shane...”Pooh”...this is the amazing woman that is his mother.

 Hold me for yesterday
Kiss me for tomorrow
But love me for today.

Butterfly
this is PERFECT!!!

yes, I too am in awe of the strength
that parents who care for sick children must daily find in themselves.
I have been so moved by Monika's story since you shared it...she has so many burdens...
as parents we do it because we love them...its not ever a question of cant.
thank you for sharing this and her and Shane with us, as it is a reminder of how much we should be grateful for.
beautiful poem SS...i know she was very moved.

 ~as always, Take Care,JM~
--------------
I know it's been a long road
To get these towns behind me and I
Will gladly reap what we may sow--
I am there for you ...
and you're there for me ...
Are you waiting for
Heart in hand
Woman and man
See me where I stand I am
Heart
Heart in hand
~vertical horizon~

Brandyn* Thank you, although I could never do this woman justice.
J.M.* it is an inspiration to see what a mother's love can do and how someone who should have reason to complain....does not.  Thank you as always for reading and most of all for understanding...my sweet S.S.
