we could hear it ticking
burning us away
with every passing second
no exceptions or delays

in silence and rebellion
and maybe something more
you pluck it from my wrist
let time fall to the floor

for time is our only enemy
in this hateful, anxious war
enclosing, painfully rational
a cage without a door

time will set you free
but keep me trapped inside
a chain around the wrist
of the hand that waves goodbye

...what do y'all think?

I followed until the last verse---I think we allow ourselves as much freedom as we dare...
and believe me, I am much more chickenscratch than you....enjoyed this much...(Me must loves to think too much, methinks....)

Some can be grateful for time and others hate the thought of time passing, much to think about here.
I did like it
