The Dictionary and Thesaurus

In the shadowed dusk of
evening under the soft lamp
glow - were two books a lookin'
at each other, wouldn't you know?

One large Dictionary flipped
his pages at the Thesaurus
His true love - for all times
and his heart did skip a beat

The Thesaurus fluttered her eyes
with the  coyness of a woman
Without him, she would die
as she flapped her pages in consent

He accepted her, he was not tacit
She wiggled out of her jacket
to be closer to her lover
Love was expressed while she undressed
Then she swiftly slipped 'neath his covers

I see that you have met my friends
Dear Webster and Roget
They'll be my personal bookends
Forever and a day...
I draw from each until I find
The perfect word to say
Together they fill up my mind
With syntax, come what may...

swan, this is so cute, sweet and creative.
yes they make the perfect couple...we poets would be lost with out them.
great job here.
take care,jm

Well the sun sets gently on your shoulders
And it makes me want to touch you there.
And the light in your eyes makes me feel
Like there's something much better out there
Something kind...
And I know someday I might be looking around
Trying to find some purpose
Well purpose it can't be that hard to find
As long as I've got the wind...
The wind and your love to carry me.
