-Candle-

The most beautiful thing,
that I've ever seen,
Is not a lovers face,
Nor a friends trusting smile.
The most beautiful thing,
that I've ever seen,
Is a candle, burnt low.

Candles burnt low,
have a perfect flame,
Floating on a reflective lake,
Sheltered by high peaks.
Alpine and wax,
Joined at the hip.

The malleable whole,
And the single heat.
Beauty of the flame,
burning on its lake.
All the while the lake seems cool,
its counterpart, hot.
Enmeshed in an earthly pursuit,
of Fire, Earth, Water, and Wind.

Welcome to Passions, ashen

What a lovely poem - I can smell
and see the reflections of the candle.
Very well done.
Thanks for sharing
