'Tis said a non-poetic man,
can't dream poetic dreams,
Is one saddled with one's lot,
with plainness it beseems?

As shadows lengthen into night,
and dreams are summoned forth,
Can one espy the Southern Cross,
when eyes are facing north?

Doth fate preclude all but the Bard,
to dream mid-summer's night?
"She walks in beauty like the night,"
is only Byron's sight?

Whilst I dream not in foreign tongue,
I sail on winds of time,
For in my soul, in still of night,
I dream in odist's rhyme.

One needn't be a poet to be sent into dreams of rune and poesy...how much truth to this, Mike. (though your verses are so often the impetus from which dreams spring) This is lovely.

Mike, the winds of time sail you so sweetly, and your spirit soars, tis beauty that you capture in still of night.

To sleep, perchance to dream.

Lovely poem, one of your best, I do believe.
