Babbling Poet

Did you ever babble
over nonsensical things for
hours on end while
spending time with your friends?

Talking of nothing, something,
or sitting quietly listening
As your friend poured his
soul out unto your quiet ears

Then, you sit together in
silence holding hands as
if the world had somehow
changed for that exchange

Then you babble back, expectantly
and your friend does not have time
to listen to your idealistic chatter
After all, what does it matter?

These are things that bring out
the poet in me, for when it is written
it is said, and somebody, somewhere
is listening to me, or learning how to
listen to others -

It brings me great pleasure
to be a babbling poet while
finding someone else to totally
enjoy it.

Yep, why write if there is no one with whom to share! Nice poem, Teresa!

Hi netswan,

My friend you can babble to me all you want and I listen very well and this poem well it speaks so much, I have learned that people only listen when it is something they want to hear or need, but poets here so much more than the average person because they here all of the words spoken and try to find the meanins that is what sets poets apart from others.

Thank you for sharing this,

Cerenity
