Forever In Your Heart

There is no more breath to breathe,
For man has destroyed his own earth,

Cut down the trees, Before they give birth,
Selfish gain, money, pleasure,

Stealing away the earth's treasures,
Contaminating the air,

No wonder we have so much cancer,
Every toxic dump, destroys one more day of the future,

Look at Gods Garden of Eden,
For so much we have been blessed,

Leave it to man, to destroy his own happiness,
One day, when it is too late,

The air will be completely gone,
Our Children will be wearing masks,

Then to ourselves we will ask,
"why didn't we love our earth, as we loved ourselves, our money"

It seems so stupid now, too stupid to be funny,
What is set in motion has to be stopped,

Cutting the trees down, chop, chop,
When our great grandchild will look up to us
and say....

Why didn't you participate in Earth Day?
Why didn't you make a difference for my future world?

Didn't you think all of this would someday end?
Didn't you care to be Earths friend?

Then as I cry knowing it's too late,
The world will end for mankind has sealed

his own fate....by then it will be too late!

A Romantic Heart,

A sad sad tribute to our cause, this poem made me angry that this is so close at hand,
and we never plan for our grand children.
a wonderful addition to our challenged cause. A hug to you for earth day.

This is so sad, and yet so true. I don't know where it started this challenge, but I am
certainly glad people are writing about it.

You did so well with this subject.
Thank you.

Very well said, though very very sad.  I really like this poem.  Dark truths here.

beautiful and so sadly real poem
RH...you speak the truth in this.
great presentation as well.
take care, jm

Well the sun sets gently on your shoulders
And it makes me want to touch you there.
And the light in your eyes makes me feel
Like there's something much better out there
Something kind...
And I know someday I might be looking around
Trying to find some purpose
Well purpose it can't be that hard to find
As long as I've got the wind...
The wind and your love to carry me.

Very powerful and deeply sad...it angers me so much to see how so many of us are destroying something that isn't ours to destroy.  Definitely some dark truths here.
