Sadly ... for Bradley
~*Marge Tindal*~

Did you see my picture in the paper ?
Did it spark in you a rage ?
As you read the story of my abuse
emblazoned on the page ?

I was Bradley McGee.
I was meek and I was mild.
I was Bradley
the throw-away child.

I hoped my mother would help me
as the abuse continued to grow.
But she didn't.
Why ?  I won't ever know.

I am only one
as the abusal maze goes.
There are others out there like me,
please help one of those.

I am now an angel
sitting at God's knee.
I gazed at God and asked,
"God, why me?"

I looked God straight in the eye,
and He didn't even flinch.
I told God that Thomas Coe
was one mean son-of-a-bitch.

God held me gently in His arms
"Bradley, there is evil still
but I promise you, my child,
if 'Old Sparky' don't get him
the devil will."

*In loving memory of Bradley McGee.
Murdered by his step-father, Thomas Coe.
Bradley's mother did nothing to protect her child.
Only two years old, Bradley was tortured
by being plunged upside down with his head in
the toilet because he wet his pants.
Thomas Coe's defense was 'I had a bad day.'
As this monster sits in prison, I would suggest
to you, that Bradley had a worse day.

*Here is a site dedicated to remembering the tragedies
that occur to so many helpless innocents.
It is tenderly done, but very graphic in content.
It is a page dedicated to the memory of 'The Little Angels In Heaven'.

we bring children into this harsh cynical world,so all the more we should protect them from harm.....i'm amused by the stupid excuse "I had a bad day" and saddened that the mother did nothing to help her child.....

lovely piece from you...you put me in the shoes of Bradley and yes, wonderful tribute to him too

Marge, this is a beautiful tribute... it's so sad that children have to go through this...

Kaile~
We have to remember the little Bradley's
in order to give them the love they deserved and didn't get while on this earth.

Tracie~
Hundreds of little Bradley's on that site.
Heartbreaking to read ... but they deserve being remembered.  Love you too, hon.

Devina~
Your tears fall for someone who was precious.
It's okay, sweetie.  I understand.  I love you too.

LoveBug~
Yes, honey.  It's so very sad and tragic.
It isn't going away either ... the statistics are increasing at an alarming rate.  Love ya'

Marge, .....
This made me cry, it made me angry and it made
me hurt!
How could any normal mother stand by and let
this abuse happen! My husband would be dead
and buried in the back yard! Pardon my french
but what a bunch of lousy #%!@#$&^!%$^!!!!!
(sorry, just angry)
We all have bad days.....doesn't give us the
right to hurt and injur or even kill!
As mad as I get sometimes, I could NEVER hurt
my son! Ever, he is too precious to me!

Thank you for the eye opener!
Thsi was a beautiful tribute!

Irie~
Thank you for reading Bradley's story and replying.  The anger you feel toward the horrible monster who did this to him and toward his mother who did nothing to save her child ... mirrors my own.

I'm darned angry that it happens somewhere in this country every day ... every night.
We need to get darned angry about it and see to it that our elected officials know we are angry.  That's the only way it will ever change ... the punishment for harming a child or killing one is so lenient that this country should hang our head in shame.

God help the children of this vicious cycle.
Again .. bless you for your response.

Marge, Oh how sad that words such as this ever need to be written.  What a moving, beautiful tribute.  It happens so often, and the poor little innocents end up, as you so aptly put it, thrown away.  The only consolation is that they are now playing safely in God's backyard.  Bonnie

I read all of these poems about child abuse, and I am beginning to realize just how bad it is.  how can people be so horrible?  Thank you for sharing Bradley's story with us.  He  will live on in our hearts and minds.

BSC~
Thank you for your kind reply.
Yes, Bradley was such a sweet innocent.
He deserved better.

DawnEclipse~
Hon, there are so many sad stories
of abuse that ends in death for these
little ones.
It's with a heavy heart that we
must shed tears over them.
I hope and pray that it ends.
Thank you for understanding the need
to tell his story.
