Summer's Dream, Slipping Away...

In brilliant summer's golden haze
I chanced on by and caught your gaze,
as you watched over field brillantine
caught in daytime's daylight dream...

and I watched as the set of twilight came
calling softly your sweet name
and walked we did, in summer's dream
in all its hues of gold and green...

without words and nary a touch
we said "I love you, very much"
from gaze to gaze we slipped on in
in summer's shadows, in twilight dim...

and all of the delights of summer held
when our gaze took hold to meld
my memory in yours, and yours in mine,
stop, and hear, the ivy twine...

and knowing that I could not stay,
I told you that I must leave and away
I went, and left you behind
in summer's heat, under moonlit sky...

so in my fantasies, in summer's golden haze
I'll chance upon you, catch your gaze,
as you watch over field brillantine
caught in daytime's daylight dream...

I should have known, I should have known...

Karilea, you are so gifted, that I stand here dumbfounded....

Great piece of work as ever,
Regards, sudhir

Hey you, out there in the cold,
Getting lonely, getting old, can you feel me?
Hey you, standing in the aisle,
With itchy feet and fading smile, can you feel me?
Hey you, don't help them to bury the light.
Don't give in without a fight.
Hey you, out there on your own,
Sitting naked by the phone, would you touch me?
Hey you, with your ear against the wall,
Waiting for someone to call out, would you touch me?
Hey you, would you help me to carry the stone?
Open your heart, I'm coming home....

Sunshine,
  So romantic and beautiful.

"and walked we did, in summer's dream
in all its hues of gold and green..."

"my memory in yours, and yours in mine,
stop, and hear, the ivy twine..."

"I went, and left you behind"
"so in my fantasies, in summer's golden haze
I'll chance upon you, catch your gaze,"

I was allowed to become one with the poem. So nicely done.      Marcy
