A toy lay on the shelf, forgotten,
in The Land of Misbegotten.
Cupie Doll,
won at the fair--
Tilt--she blinks--
see vacant stare.
(child's glory moment,
all to see--
his chest a-puff
in victory...)

First nicks,
then lust
of crowded shelf--
doll's eye shut
tears of rust...
pained with stain
of misplaced trust...
Cupid's Love forgot herself.

Tossed behind
the prizes new,
NEGLECT
within
the hush of dust--
window cracked--
breeze blew through--
TILT--she blinked
a tear, renewed...

The boy came home.
Discerning eye,
counting prizes
of his Pride--
INVENTORY
of Love's Lies...
Had he but turned
he would have spied
Cupid's Doll,
one eye blinked sly...
and now she grins
a bit too wide...

Ah, this was so cool.  Love the happy ending too.  'Tis true, I think - there's a happy ending out there for us all.  Wonderful piece, serenity.

yes,
very cool...and full of perfect imagery and emotions.
I love the way you often put the certain emotions
and points in parenthesis...
(love this poem)
(and the sweet poet)
(smile)
take care, jm

Well the sun sets gently on your shoulders
And it makes me want to touch you there.
And the light in your eyes makes me feel
Like there's something much better out there
Something kind...
And I know someday I might be looking around
Trying to find some purpose
Well purpose it can't be that hard to find
As long as I've got the wind...
The wind and your love to carry me.

serenity,
very cool!  I really like this one.  There is magic in your words, too, dear!

Now this is good... "A toy lay on the shelf, forgotten, in The Land of Misbegotten." Having two houses for all the kids and an RV that's supposed for my wife and me... It's funny how those things get left laying around even in the RV. You wouldn't what to see the houses. *&$#&%#&*^
