Heavy footsteps upon my soul leave no imprint
the sword I bear is the icon of my love, a symbol of my strength.
I have fought many battles against unseen foes, suffered many wounds in my fight for love.
Tired and weary, the last ounce of energy gone, I fall down embracing my head with my hands.
Ready to give up I draw my last breath, millions of thoughts rain through my mind.
battered soul, worn body I can take no more I am the knight of history.

I look to the heavens for something, not knowing what I'll find, but find it I do. A spark lands on my flesh the heat melts its way into me. Something stirs inside me. Like a drop becomes a river, this fire becomes all consuming.

Arise I do slowly, straighteneing my back, the rain can do no more.I look, I take a deep breath and raise my sword towards the sky.

I stand alone, but I stand strong.

The sadness will never go Will never go away

Perhaps this spark is hope or courage.  The wise man will always follow a position of strength.   The foe will respect no other position.   James

What an excellent picture this paints in my mind.   Powerful writing. I loved it.

Nothing can deter a poet, for he is actuated by pure love. Who can predict his comings and goings? "Thoreau"
