Labors of Love

When sunlight touches on the plush
And velvet wings in garden’s bloom
When butterfly lights gently in the
Powdery mist of its perfume
This moment in the morning hour
As I gaze down from hills above
That’s the moment when I reap
The labors of my love

When sunset casts a mellow tone
Upon his cheek like angel’s kiss
And I relive through grandson’s laughter
Happy days of childhood bliss
In such a precious hour as this
My mind recalls the hardships of
All I’d done to finally reap
The labors of my love

If I could choose to live again
Through all the pain and all the strife
If I would find myself once more
In sorrows deepest pits of life
I’d stand with face turned toward the sun
And with a lifeline from above
I’d smile knowing I would reap
These labors of my love

No words can quite express my joy
Of every moment that I live
For I have come to recognize
The way to love and to forgive
The greatest gift I’ve ever known
Is sung in songs of mourning dove
And that’s the moment that I reap
The peacefulness of love

In such a precious hour as this
My mind recalls the hardships of
All I’d done to finally reap
The labors of my love.

Elizabeth, that was truely beautiful and wonderful.

No words can quite express my joy
Of every moment that I live
For I have come to recognize
The way to love and to forgive
The greatest gift I’ve ever known
Is sung in songs of mourning dove
And that’s the moment that I reap
The peacefulness of love

especially the last stanza...
Nothing i can add to that ....
I shall leave in stunned silence.

"Isn't it enough to see that a garden is beautiful without having to believe that there are fairies at the bottom of it too? "
Douglas Adams.

"Here chewing your tail is joy"

Richey Edwards

"Take nothing but pictures. Leave nothing but footprints. Kill nothing but time".

Baltimore Grotto

"Do not listen to a word I say
Just listen to what I can keep silent"
