Side By Side

It's been a long day
I lay down to sleep
it's too quiet
I can't count sheep.
My mind starts to wander
I recount the day
I remember now
what I wanted to say.
To say the words tomorrow
that you needed to hear today
I hope I'm not too late
in my delay.
It's good to see you again
to have you near
a friend like you
I hold so dear.
The day passes quickly
when your in sight
and even helps
fly by the night.
I hope to see
tomorrow arrive
with my dear friend
by my side.

Lorraine~
Just lovely sentiment for a friend.
I've got one like that ...
she's been my 'Eve's rib' for as
long as either of us can remember.

Our slogan ...
'Blessed are those who go round
in friendship's circle ...
for they shall be known as
the wheels of friendship turning.'

*We met in college and she is my
friend for all of life ... and beyond.
Thank you for this memory-shaker.
