To Rest upon a Timid Shore

Where thee in life is slain,
To release a song of travail.
Where doth it need be lain?
To rest upon a timid shore.
Mended but a lasting scar,
Eroded like mounts over time,
Distance to the path is far,
Like golden-flower willow weep,
Let loose upon a tainted sky,
A dream but in your timeless sleep;
Drew back the cover's many folds,
A rush of flooded thought too deep,
To rest upon a timid shore.

^_^ Amanda

 Shall I compare thee to a summer's day? Thou art more lovely and more temperate, Rough winds do shake the darling buds of May, And summer's lease hath all too short a date. Sometimes too hot the eye of heaven shines, And often is his gold complexion dimmed; And every fair from fair sometimes declines, By chance or nature's changing course, untrimmed. But thy eternal summer shall not fade, Nor lose possession of that fair thou ow'st; Nor shall death brag thou wand'rest in his shade, When in eternal lines to time thou grow'st.
So long as men can breathe or eyes can see,
So long lives this, and this gives life to thee.
William Shakespeare

A beautiful poem, wonderful images, when life seems to wear me down I like to imagine I am wandering through a lush field on a clear summer's day. THough your timid shore sounds magical. I might pay a visit to it one day if you don't mind.

To rest upon a timid shore.
Mended but a lasting scar,
Eroded like mounts over time,
Distance to the path is far,

Like golden-flower willow weep,
Let loose upon a tainted sky,
A dream but in your timeless sleep;
Drew back the cover's many folds,
A rush of flooded thought too deep,
To rest upon a timid shore.

LadySofia~
Liltingly lovely ...
languishing in the realm of dreams on serenity's shores.

'A dream but in your timeless sleep;
Drew back the cover's many folds,
A rush of flooded thought too deep,
To rest upon a timid shore.'

Enjoyed the images.

Hi Amanda - glad this is up.  I just
can't read all the lovely poems in here,
though really try.  This is
well done - wonderful imagery.  Love it.
