Janet Marie,
I hope you enjoy this. David2

What Summer’s Day

What Summer’s day may compare to my sweet,
Be it ever so near to perfection?
Suffering greatly when forced to compete,
With the warmth of her glowing complexion.
When is a sunrise, emblazoned in gold,
With a wonder and splendor disarming,
More of a treasure to long to behold,
Than her beauty, bewitching and charming?
Where does a garden of peonies grow,
With a fragrance more shockingly awesome,
As those adrift on the soft wind that blows,
From my love as she flowers and blossoms?

What then assures sorrow’s certain demise?
Only one look in her wonderful eyes.

~*David*~

What a beautiful dedication.  It reminds me of a Shakesperian sonnet.

Take care,

David,

*Sigh*
this is exquisite!!
enjoy is too small of an adjective...
Enchanted seem to come to mind!!
thank you...so very much.
you know how I adore your sonnets...
and envy your grace with them as well.
this one is so perfect and will join the others of yours I have printed out as keepsakes.

Some things cannot be explained by verses that rhyme,
They are not measured by the commitment of time.
Some emotions run too deep to be described by words,
Forgiveness and understanding-remain the most beautiful words ever heard.
