My mind is plagued with memory,
Memories I’d rather forget.
And the only working remedy,
Seems to be regret.

The memories aren’t so bad,
In fact they’re very nice
But all those pleasant thoughts,
Don’t come with out their price.

Pondering thoughts of now and past,
And how my life once was.
Reality pales in contrast,
Oh Lord, how it does.

I miss my contentment,
My happiness, my glee.
Now I have resentment,
God, won’t you help me?

Thank you for the trip down memory lane.  The good and the bad make us what we are today.  I'm glad to still have memories!  Really enjoyed your poem!
