DARKNESS BLEEDING

Waking whispers, dawn emotion,
Dream disappears in slow motion.
Time, it lingers, long and lulling
Obligation outside pulling...

Towards the world of the living,
To forgive the unforgiving.
To sugarcoat the plastic guise
Of a man behind sightless eyes.

A man who hears music alone,
Dancing away life, monotone.
By call of Disenchantment's sting
Choosing never again to sing...

For no one hears silence crying
Or wipes the tears of love dying
In dreams that fall to shades of gray,
And so the music dies away.

The hand withdrawn, outstretched in chance,
To one whom might have shared this dance.
To her who looked upon true eyes
But chose, instead, a life of lies.

And Shadow whispers Night's falling.
As Time answers to the calling.
Watching the fireflies in the rain
Never question the balm of pain...

That leads me unto a living
World of dream from life's misgiving.
In all vanity unbending
By a passion never ending.

By the silence I hear crying,
By tears I wipe for love dying,
By this life I live receding,
Who yet sees the Darkness bleeding?

Michael Anderson

For all behind was dark and drear,
And all before was night and fear.
How many hours of night or day
In those suspended pangs I lay,
I could not tell; I scarcely knew
If this were human breath I drew.

Lord Byron

Michael,

I have seen the drops of which you speak
of bloody, sightless, silent leak
from Night's beguiled and wounded creed
yes I have seen this Darkness bleed

...your writing so often mirrors my own heart, and this is a genuine reflection...

*****

I have lain in the darkness bleeding,
with my tears ... to which the pain came upon ... feeding.
Silence brings in the night,  shadows always preceding,
Desire and desperation dance in fevered breeding.
Loneliness reaches out ... forever needing ...
Hopes and dreams forever pleading.
Still I search for the light ... ever leading,
and believe in time the pain will be receding...
to unconditional love ... I will at last be conceding.

understanding eyes see the darkness bleeding...
between the lines they are always reading. *smile*

I have finally reached this place of which your write so beautifully. I no longer hope to love or love to hope. I have been cast back into the darkness that is my eyes. I wish not to suffer again the pain only a heart can cause. I shall no longer open it up to such frivolity. May there be peace in nothingness.

needed another read of this one...
somethings are even better on the second time around

 It's amazing
How you make your face just like a wall
How you take your heart and turn it off
How I turn my head and you lose it all ...
And it's unnerving
How one move just puts me by myself
There you go just trusting someone else
Now I know I put us both through hell ...
I'm not sayin
That there was nothing wrong
I just didn't think you'd ever get tired of me
And I'm not sayin
We ever had the right to hold on
I just didn't wanna let you get away from me.

Michael this is a great poem you have here, so well expressed, the closing of a heart, in nothingness, we find no love.
I had closed my heart to all after my divorce, and went some time alone no contact, this poem mirrors my feelings at the time, I had to crawl out of the pit I had made for myself, it was a living hell.
You know my story from that point.
I thank you for this poem,
you have put so well my life, until I met White Dove.
Joel.

I howl a mournful song, that echos within my chambered heart, for all to read? nay for all to feel.

Claire, I know you have felt this, you honor me with your poetic reply.

Robert, sometimes the glimpse of the sun is so infinitesimal that it only serves to remind us how how overwhelming the rain can be.

Janet, love when true is unconditional - that is my biggest problem, I still love even throught the hurt.

Marilyn, could use a big dose of nothingness myself right about now... put the Floyd on - I think I'm gettin Comfortably Numb.

Mistik, glad you enjoyed.

Angel, Thanks for patching up my boo boo... now howz about a hug ((HUG))  TY, my friend, just for being you.

Joel, I'm glad you found your way out - hopefully one day I will.

Thank you all for the kind replies.

Michael* This touched my heart so deeply, the pain felt through them, I think I held my breath till the end...This is a powerful piece, thank you for sharing this...and the piece of your heart and soul in which you draw to write.

Michael...another excellent poem and a vivid portrayal of a broken heart.
Someday you shall weep tears of joy and all this other stuff will be washed away in their wake. I can't wait until that day comes for you my friend, but until then, have faith.

Beautiful poem that struck a chord of my heart.  Broken hearts are so painful, yet we always go back and take the chance of having it break again...we have to...

Jeffrey, I can't answer that honestly but in the end I hope there is a sence of balance... I hope that makes sense to you.

BDC, you words touch me as well...

Wolfsmate, Nice to see you again.  Glad you enjoyed the read.

Nan, me thinks a full body cast might better suffice at this juncture...LOL

Ruth, I can't wait either - but I will always have faith, no matter what.

Kellsue - that's because the only hearts that can be broken are those that hold genuine love to begin with, me thinks.

Thank you all for the kind replies.
