Floating gently on a cloud....

The Mountains Of Life

Life is an uphill struggle,
Tiresome and sometimes hard to bear.
We reach the peaks of happiness,
By trekking through the valleys of despair.

Oh, but the joyful peaks of living
Are second to none on this earth.
Just ask the newlywed bride and groom
Or a mother who has just given birth.

Though we complain of hardships,
Of the obstacles blocking our path.
There are moments of pure pleasure,
Found in love's aftermath.

The times when our cares melt away,
When we cannot help but smile.
Are not those moments worth the effort
of going the extra mile?

On the up side of the mountain
there is much to gain.
The smiles waiting at the top
are ever worth the pain.

Thanks Marge for helping me get this right! Much appreciated!
Love and hugs,
Lizzie

Lizzie,
This is beautiful. You have echoed my feelings and put them into a great flow of words...

To climb a mountain, is a fight,
On the way, there are moments so tight,
When you may wonder why, feeling some fright
Reach up there, surely you will find a  visual delight...

Great enjoyable read!

Regards, sudhir

***lizzie,
I love this one, so perceptive and visually moving.

Oh, Ms. Lizzie~
This is as exquisite as I thought it would be.
Just the uplifting poem to begin my day.
I will look forward to the 'mountain' view from the top.
GREAT JOB, my little 'mentee'.
Love you~

Liz--

This was exactly the type of poem I needed to read to make me SMILE. Thank you. This holds a very beautiful and positive message...one I think we too often forget in our everyday life. Thanks for the wonderful reminder.

Take care,
