~*The Changing Generations*~

Mom - can we trade?
Your Beatles
for my Marilyn Manson
your Volkswagon
for my red sportscar
your cigarettes
for my crack
your pregnancy
for my AIDS
your morals, tolerance and kindness
for my selfishness, ignorance and hatred
your mother and father
for my father, his new wife
and my half-sister
your generation in exchange for mine
what do you say Mom
can we trade?

You've said this with flare Melissa Honeybee. What an excellent comparison of one generations troubles to the next. Sometimes I wish we "could" go back. Beautifully written and insightful.

Very creative Melissa...somehow I don't think she'll agree to trade...although she might go for the red sportscar...James
