We all have our problems,
However small, however large
Whatever they are
They bother us all.

We all have our troubles,
Someone near, someone far,
Wherever they are,
We remember them all.

Pity, we often feel for the weak,
A hand we offer to the meek,
Yet so often we go out and fight,
To show our prowess and our might,
And time and again, we know not,
What we have lost and why we had fought.

A few good men visited this planet dear,
Showed us love, taught us to live without fear,
Yet, fate handed to them manslaughter,
At the hands of goons who love to murder.

Gandhi, Lincoln, Kennedy are just a few,
There are many more heroes we never knew,
Lifelines are crooked and fate-triangles are skew,
So many deaths and yet all we say is "phew"!

Life hands us many so gifts on a platter,
Then why do we try to take it away?
It could be time that shreds life into tatters,
If we let even an opportunity to slip by,
Grab a chance, we have to when it matters,
Or we will end up remembering days gone by.
Act now, for the time has come,
Let's make time meaningful for some,
This is the moment - today is the day,
Peace and meaning can't wait another day.

Take each day as it comes,
Consider each day as a flight,
Try hard to succeed and fly,
Surely then you will reach some height.

But if by some chance you don’t,
Remember that tomorrow will always come.
Learn this well and learn this hard
That today’s efforts will pay for tomorrow’s fun.

I enjoyed your poem, and you are right
there is a lot of truth in it. The world has to much fighting and killing in it. We ask WHY we can't all get along???? Keep up the Good thoughts.
