I'll wear a red paper poppy
For the boys and girls I knew
Who went to war not to return.
It is little enough to do.

I'll wear one for all the others
Who came home but weren't the same.
I'll wear it for each brave hero;
Though I may never know his name.

If you see veterans selling
Bright paper poppies, show your pride.
Take one or more, wear it gladly
For those who lived, for those who died.

Great advice, Joyce, the least we can do to honor them!

the woods are lovely, dark, and deep, but I have promises to keep, and many miles to go before I sleep...Frost

I love this, Joyce -- a poignant tribute and a gentle reminder.
In Canada, we remember them each November 11...
